Petitto featured on CNN’s “Vital Signs” with Dr. Sanjay Gupta
Dr. Laura-Ann Petitto was featured in a recent video story on CNN's Vital Signs entitled "Neuroscientist's quest to understand language."
Petitto on CNNThe show, hosted by CNN's Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta, highlighted the work of Dr. Petitto and the Brain and Language Lab (BL2) at Gallaudet. Featured in the episode was Dr. Petitto's revolutionary discovery of how the mind learns language in the same way regardless of modality (whether it's spoken or signed). The story also discussed BL2's fNIRS machine which allows brain activity to be more easily studied which allows for continued progress in this filed.
