Yunjae Hwang

Deaf Education
Gallaudet University


Yunjae is a native of Seoul, South Korea, majoring in Special Education and Korean Literature at Woosuk University, Korea, for his bachelors. During his undergraduate years, Yunjae completed Korean sign language courses, and became interested in sign language and deaf education likewise.

Yunjae moved to St. Louis, Missouri, to obtain a masters' degree in Early intervention in Deaf Education from Fontbonne University, and started to learn ASL during that time.

Currently Yunjae is pursing his doctoral degree in Deaf Education at Gallaudet University and works for VL2 as a graduate assistant focusing on database work.

Yunjae plans to return to his native South Korea and be involved in improving the quality of Deaf Education there with his experience, degrees, and knowledge from the United States.
