VL2 Data Sharing Project

The VL2 Data Sharing Project provides an online portal for access to information about VL2 research projects. It gives descriptions, methods, codebooks, links to papers, and access to sharable data from these projects for future secondary analysis.

As information becomes available, it will be added to this portal.  We have developed the prototype for this service using the data sets of the Early Educational Study (EELS).  Clicking on the links will take you to the metadata page for the listed project.  From there, you can gain access to additional information about the project, as well as link to an online proposal screen that will enable you to request access to raw data for approved secondary analyses.  This process includes a formal data sharing agreement, and a mechanism for submitting an IRB approval for intended analyses.

The Toolkit Psychometric Project
The Toolkit Psychometric Project
Over thirty neurocognitive, achievement, and language assessments were administered to the same sample of approximately 90 deaf adults. The resulting data base has been used for a variety of explorations into the tools' psychometric properties and to the underpinnings of deaf individuals' cognitive characteristics. The project led to the publication of the book, Assessing Literacy in Deaf Individuals: Neurocognitive Measurement and Predictors, by D.A. Morere and T.Allen.
Standardization of the Visual Communication and Sign Language Checklist for Signing Children
Standardization of the Visual Communication and Sign Language Checklist for Signing Children
A set of previously developed, but not yet standardized, checklists were studied and compiled into a new developmental checklist of emerging ASL skill, suitable for evaluating children from birth to five years of age. An online version of the Checklist was developed with links to an ASL glossary of terms and behaviors referenced in the checklist.
