Early Educational Longitudinal Study (EELS-I)

The VL2 Early Education Longitudinal Study collected extensive data on a national sample of deaf preschool aged children over a three year period (from 2010 to 2013). Data included yearly direct assessments of language, literacy and cognitive skills, indirect assessments of home and school characteristics through family and teacher surveys, and school policy characteristics collected from program administrators. The data base is currently being used to test hypotheses about the interrelationships among school and family characteristics, and student outcomes.

The video above was made in 2010 as an information and recruitment video for schools and parents.  In it. Dr. Shilpa Hanumantha, who, at the time was a post-doc with the VL2 Center,  describes the EELS study, its rationale and its methods.  Also, the recruitment brochure is presented below,
