Yessica Rodriguez

Yessica Rodriguez is a doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology program at Gallaudet University. She received both her Bachelor and Master of Arts in Psychology from The University of Texas at Brownsville. While earning her undergraduate degree, she became a scholar and, later, Chief Scholar of the Minority Biomedical Research Support, Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement (MBRS RISE) Program funded by the National Institute of Health, which seeks to increase the number of underrepresented minority students in the biomedical sciences. Her research experiences include multiple internships and interests that span from working in a pharmacology laboratory with controlled substances to out in the community promoting positive health outcomes. In El2, she is currently exploring and researching trilingual and tricultural deaf Hispanics and the attitudes toward deaf children held by parents from different cultural backgrounds. She is also providing support for the Extended Education Longitudinal Study.
